Our Mission

To make life a little lighter for people navigating a hard season—with practical help, a little joy, and a reminder that, despite what the news might suggest, not everyone in the world sucks.

We believe you can need help and still be doing your best. Asking shouldn’t come with shame, and receiving shouldn’t require pretending everything is fine.

The Difference We Hope To Make

This year, we’re giving $100,000 to 20 individuals or families, with $5,000 each to help make life feel a little less heavy.

A paid bill. Groceries without doing the math in every aisle. The bike your child keeps asking for. We may not be able to fix everything, but we can help with something—and sometimes that’s what gives you room to breathe.

Why This Matters to Me

A few years ago, I was learning how to be a mom—and a single mom—all at once, in a new place, far from family and without the built-in support system I had imagined I’d have. It was one of the most beautiful and disorienting seasons of my life, and I was embarrassed to admit how lonely I felt.

Eventually, I let people in—and they showed up. Strangers became friends. Balloons appeared on our porch. A friend that insisted on coming over every week. These may sound like small gestures, but to me, they were anything but small. They reminded me that support doesn’t always arrive in grand, life-changing ways. Sometimes it looks like someone noticing, showing up, and staying close.

I’ve also been given opportunities by my family and carried by my faith. I know what it feels like to be supported in ways I didn’t earn or expect, and I want to pass some of that goodness along. A proverb that has stayed with me: “A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” That’s the spirit behind The Blonde Elf. We can offer what we have, make someone’s load a little lighter, and trust that kindness keeps moving.

My hope is that we can help someone exhale, feel remembered, and know that there are people who care—even people they haven’t met yet.

And if we can put a bow on something along the way, obviously we will.
